Dr Abdul Kalam honours cartoonists at Cartoon Festival 2011

Cartoon Watch, the only cartoon magazine in India organises Cartoon Festival every year and honours the senior cartoonists since 2003.  Cartoon Watch is being published from Raipur.  Cartoon Festival 2011 was held this year at New Delhi on 29th April 2011.  Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Former President of India launched the Cartoon Festival by drawing a symbolic cartoon and honoured senior cartoonists Mr Ajit Ninan, Mr Kaak, MrMr Hussain Zamin, Mr B V Panduranga Rao, Mr Jagjeet Rana and Mr Sudheer Nath for their lifetime achievement in the field of cartoon.  
Mr Triambak Sharma, Editor, Cartoon Watch organised this event. Mr Triambak Sharma is also the cartoon Editor of our ezine PreSense and the cartoon character PRince created by him was also launched by Dr Kalam three years back at Chennai.  Dr Kalam also made a reference about the cartoon characters like common man and PRince in his speech.
During his speech, he also advised the cartoonists to set their mission. Dr Abdul Kalam is one of the admirers of cartoons and wherever he goes, he always encourages the media to use more of cartoons, to convey the message to the people in an effective manner.
